City tracks of The Betroted

Photographc research in the Alessandro manzoni novel place

A chain of forced coincidences for a "free arrangements" of the schenography of characters, and events of this fantastic novel.

Italo Calvino writes: The Betrothed, a novel of forced relations, in Una pietra sopra: [...] Extract a geometrical scheme from a book so complicated and modulated it is non forced: ever a novel was so exactly written as "The Betrothed". Each poetic and ideological effect is ruled like a clock beat the time. [...]

The images too work on the geometrical size of the city and of his architecture.
They look for lights and shadows, texture and colours, in order to obtain anthropomorphous shapes, archeologic-visual finds, parts of the novel that have been amalgamated into the city image of today's.

The manifacturing of the works highlights this link. Visual and material finds are joined together, printings join aluminium, cement, iron and parts of typographic print. They come off the city walls shaping into these photographics sculptures that reconstruct the fact of the Manzoni's novel.
